Summary:  Lead a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) environment through the application of Lean continuous improvement techniques to the leadership, control, and execution of maintenance activity to maximize asset reliability and performance. Direct maintenance staff to meet positional and company objectives in support of TPM. Supervise Tool Room staff to provide mold, die and fixture needs in support of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement objectives. Supervise custodial staff and manage all building and grounds maintenance and improvement activities.

Essential Functions:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily.

  • Apply Lean techniques to maintenance activities to develop a TPM environment:
    • Waste reduction.
    • Standardize practices.
    • Measure and report performance through KPI’s.
    • Preventative and predictive practices.
  • CMMS - Fully utilize the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Management of services and external maintenance vendors.
  • Facilities and Grounds Maintenance:
    • Manage and monitor the building systems to assure proper functioning and to maintain an appropriate working environment.
    • Supervise custodial staff to complete all daily and periodic light maintenance.
    • Ensure the safety, upkeep and regulatory compliance of buildings and property.
  • Production support and communication:
    • Supervise Tool & Die staff to provide mold, die, and fixture maintenance as well as development to support continuous improvement efforts.
    • Develop regular communication and prioritization processes with Production Managers and other customers to assure proper service and expectations.
    • Support production Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) requirements by improving availability, performance and quality of processes that utilize physical assets.
  • Facilities Improvements:
    • Manage and monitor the building systems to assure proper functioning and to maintain an appropriate working environment.
    • Supervise custodial staff to complete all daily and periodic light maintenance.
    • Ensure the safety, upkeep and regulatory compliance of buildings and property.
  • Manage staffing of maintenance operations at levels necessary to support company requirements to maximize asset reliability and performance.
  • Safety - ensure all applicable safety and maintenance and facility environmental health objectives are implemented and sustained.

Knowledge, Education and/or Experience: 

  • Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED,) two-year technical degree or completed secondary education in relevant areas of study.
  • At least five years of experience working within a manufacturing environment in facilities/maintenance, preferably at a supervisory/management level and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year experience with fundamental maintenance and/or facilities tasks and duties.
  •  On the job training may be required.
